Chris Hamilton was born and raised on the East End of Long Island, and is a lifelong resident of Greenport. His family has been living on Long Island, and working on the water for at least six generations. Chris is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he studied Environmental Science and Marine Affairs.

In recent years, Chris has increasingly spent more time working as a bayman, and learning the trade from his father. He has always had a deep love and respect for the natural environment, and the beauty that makes the East End so unique. It is this unique beauty, and perspective as a bayman, that has inspired his photography.

Chris ultimately hopes to inspire others with his images, and bring a heightened awareness to the importance of respecting and preserving, not only our natural environment and resources on the East End, but also our heritage, which is increasingly becoming a distant memory.
